Out of This World!!!

Space_photo.pngGet ready to blast off into a musical cosmic journey filled with shooting stars, astronauts, and fantastic creatures from galaxies far, far away with the Dalcroze School of the Rockies’ 7th Annual Dalcroze Summer Camp:  Out of This World!!!  Using the philosophy of Émile Jaques-Dalcroze, your child’s imagination and joy will know no bounds.  We will integrate theater, dance, and visual art to explore musical subjects and cultivate creativity.   With music from masterful composers such as Crumb, Gorecki, Holst, Ligeti, Rimsky-Korsakov, Strauss, Tomita, and Williams along with great American folk music, this year’s production will offer something for everyone!

Alien_Picture.pngThe five-day camp will conclude with a performance complete with sets and costumes created by the students themselves.  In preparation for the performance, each student will be provided a CD at the beginning of camp with the material we’ll be using throughout the week.  Each day, students should bring a snack to munch on while they build their own sets and costumes.   Enrollment is limited, and registration will begin in early March!
